Getting started
What is Minkee?
Minkee is an Android dating app for intentional dating, where every profile states what the person is looking for, photos are human-verified, and optional chaperone (wali) mode keeps family involved. It's free on Google Play for adults 18 and over.
Is Minkee free?
Yes. Downloading Minkee, building your profile, matching and messaging are all free. There's a daily limit on likes, which resets every day.
How old do I need to be?
18 or older. We ask for your birthday during setup and only show your age on your profile.
How do I sign up?
Download Minkee from Google Play and sign up with your email, or continue with Google. We'll send a code to confirm your email.
I didn't get my verification code
Check your spam folder, make sure the email address is right, then request a new code from the same screen.
I forgot my password
Tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen. We'll email you a code to set a new one. If you signed up with Google, manage your password in your Google account.
Can I finish setting up later?
Yes. Your progress is saved — sign in again any time to pick up where you left off.
Profiles & matching
How does matching work?
Like someone in Discover or Swipes. If they like you too, it's a match and you can start chatting.
What are intentions?
What you're looking for on Minkee, from marriage to new friends. It shows on your profile so people know where you stand. Change it any time from your profile.
Why can't I see anyone nearby?
Check that location is allowed for Minkee, then try widening your distance or age filters. Without location, Discover can't show who's nearby.
I passed on someone by mistake
In Swipes, tap undo to bring back the last person you passed.
How do I get verified?
Go to Profile › Settings › Verification, copy the pose shown and take a selfie. Our team compares it with your profile photos, usually within a day. Only our review team sees your selfie, and it's deleted once reviewed.
Can I hide my profile for a while?
Yes — snooze it from Profile › Settings › Snooze. You won't appear in Discover or Likes you, and your existing chats carry on as normal.
Privacy & safety
Who can see my location?
Nobody sees your exact location. Minkee uses only your rough area — about 1 km — and other members see a rounded distance such as "Less than 1 km away". Your exact position is never shown on your profile or in Discover.
Can I turn off read receipts?
Yes, in Profile › Settings › Privacy. These settings work both ways: if you hide yours, you won't see other people's either.
How do I block or report someone?
Open their profile or your chat with them, tap the menu, and choose Block or Report. See the safety centre for more.
Do you sell my data?
No. Read our privacy policy for exactly what we collect and why.
How do I get a copy of my data?
Send a request from Profile › Settings › Help and support, or email privacy@minkee.app.
Your account
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Profile › Settings › Account › Delete account. Can't access the app? Request deletion on the web.
What happens when I delete my account?
Your profile, photos, matches and messages are removed and you're signed out. It can't be undone. See what's deleted and what we keep.
How do I change my password?
Go to Profile › Settings › Account › Change password.
